Senior Backend Engineer

About the role
You’ll work on the core that everything else depends on: a correct, observable, and fast money-movement platform. You’ll also help us push AI deeper into the stack — from copilots in our own workflow to LLM- and ML-assisted features like smart categorisation and anomaly detection — while keeping the safety bar high.
What you'll do
- Build and operate core money-movement services end to end
- Design data models and APIs for accounts, transfers, and balances
- Own reliability, observability, and performance of what you ship
- Integrate ML/LLM services safely into production flows (fraud signals, support, insights)
- Partner with risk and compliance to ship without surprises
What we're looking for
- 5+ years building backend systems in production
- Strong in a typed language (Go, Rust, TypeScript, Kotlin, …)
- Deep care for correctness — testing, idempotency, data integrity
- Comfortable using AI coding tools to move faster without lowering quality
- Clear written communication in an async, remote team
Nice to have
- Payments, ledgers, or regulated-fintech experience
- Experience shipping ML/LLM features to production
- Event-driven architecture and exactly-once processing
